Wells Thong Lo | Writer’s Workshop Launched!

10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 BLAST OFF!!! The First Graders at the Thong Lo campus have official launched their “Writer’s Workshop”. You may be asking yourself … what is a writer’s workshop and why are they important for kids at such a young age? Well, writing gives kids a voice and a chance to express their thoughts, feelings, and a way  to get their points of view across. We here at Wells Thong Lo believe in building independence and giving kids a way to find their writer’s voice.

Our first book study was based on “Knuffle Bunny” written by Mo Willems. This was a great relatable book that helped our students understand a little bit more about fiction writing. Through the power of a great book the students now know how to hook their readers with a problem and a solution writing technique. We ended our book study by incorporating technology.  The student used their best character voice to bring Knuffle Bunny to life with the help of CHATTERPIX.
