Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement preventative counseling programs to address common student issues such as stress, anxiety, bullying, and peer relationships.
- Utilize restorative practices to mediate conflicts, repair relationships, and promote a positive school culture.
- Design and deliver social-emotional learning (SEL) curriculum and activities that teach students essential life skills such as empathy, self-awareness, and emotional regulation.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to support students’ mental health and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to identify and support students in need of additional assistance.
- Conduct assessments to identify students’ needs and develop appropriate intervention plans.
- Organize workshops and training sessions for staff and parents on topics related to student well-being, SEL, and restorative practices.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress.
- Stay current with best practices in school counseling, SEL, and restorative practices, integrating new approaches as appropriate.
- Advocate for students’ needs within the school community and connect families with external resources when necessary.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives and events that promote a positive and inclusive school climate.
Qualifications
- Fluent Thai speaker or multilingual speaker
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in School Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- Valid school counselor certification or licensure.
- Experience working with primary and middle school students in a counseling capacity.
- Strong understanding of social-emotional learning principles and restorative practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive school environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional training in education
- Experience conducting workshops and training sessions for educators and parents.
- Able to communicate in Mandarin
