Chinese New Year Celebration 2011

The kindergarten hosted their Chinese and Korean New Year Assembly on the 2nd of February. Children looked lovely in traditional Chinese and Korean outfits. This year being the Year of the Rabbit, children were taught to make rabbits using their hands while they learnt how to greet in Chinese. K3 students did a special Chinese dance performance followed by various activities like the dragon parade, lantern making and orange peeling race. Feeding oranges to the dragons who danced to the drum beats, was something that most students enjoyed. It was great to have parents join our celebration. Some parents volunteered to participate in the games too. Children received Ang Baos with chocolates. To end the celebrations in a special way, children were given some Chinese snacks. A fun assembly enjoyed by one and all.
