Wells International School Bang Na Celebrates the Joy of Reading

Wells International School Bang Na proudly celebrated Reading Month, a special time dedicated to promoting the joy of reading and fostering a love of books among students.

The month kicked off with an exciting Launch Day, where teachers from the Early Years performed a lively play, The Lion, The Mouse, and The Sleepy Bear, captivating young learners with storytelling and drama. Meanwhile, primary teachers organized a thrilling scavenger hunt, challenging students to find hidden literary clues and deepen their engagement with books in an adventurous and interactive way.

Throughout the month, a variety of activities inspired students to explore the world of literature. One of the most popular was the Reading Buddies program, where older students paired up with younger ones to read together. This not only helped younger students improve their reading skills but also fostered a strong sense of community and friendship across different age groups.

Adding to the fun, the school hosted Pajama Day, where students and teachers arrived in their coziest pajamas and brought their favorite books to read. This relaxed and comfortable setting encouraged them to fully immerse themselves in their reading. Before diving into their books, students watched Peter and the Wolf, which sparked engaging discussions and enriched their storytelling experience.

Another exciting event was A Poem, Joke, or Riddle in Your Pocket, where students carried a favorite poem, joke, or riddle to share throughout the day, sparking creativity and conversation.

To conclude the Reading Month celebration, the school held a Vocabulary Parade, where students showcased their creativity while expanding their vocabulary in a fun and interactive way. During the event, winners of the Best in Costume awards and the Bookmark Competition were announced, recognizing both teachers and students’ artistic and creative designs that celebrated the joy of reading.

Reading Month at Wells International School Bang Na was a resounding success, bringing the entire community together in a shared love of books and storytelling. As the celebration ends, the excitement for reading continues, inspiring students to embark on new literary adventures every day.
