This year, Loy Krathong at Wells in Bang Na celebrates the cherished Thai tradition of Loy Krathong with a special focus on sustainability and environmental mindfulness. Our theme for 2024-2025 is Sustainable Loy Krathong, where we honor our cultural heritage while being conscious of the environment. This year’s celebration brings together students, teachers, and parents in meaningful ways, highlighting the importance of both community and eco-friendly practices.
A key activity in our celebration is the Making Krathong workshop, where students collaborate with parents and teachers to create beautiful, sustainable krathongs. The eco-friendly materials used reflect our commitment to preserving nature while maintaining the cultural significance of the krathong. This hands-on activity not only teaches students about Thai traditions but also strengthens the bonds within our community as families contribute and share their knowledge in this creative endeavor.
The celebration also includes a vibrant parade featuring students from Nursery to Kindergarten 3, showcasing the joy and beauty of Thai culture. Grades 1-5 will present traditional performances, including dance and music, adding excitement and energy to the event. Another highlight is the Krathong competition, where each class, with the help of parents, creates a large krathong. The announcement of the winning krathong designs is always a highly anticipated moment of fun and creativity. Ultimately, the event promotes unity, cultural pride, and environmental awareness, and we wish everyone a joyful and meaningful Loy Krathong celebration!
