Wells International School’s Class of 2019 cordially invites you to the collaborative So You Think You Can Science Presentations on Wednesday, January 23, 2019 from 3 – 4:30 in the Wells On Nut Auditorium.
Event Description
The Wells So You Think You Can Science Presentations are based on the IB Group 4 Science Project, a collaborative activity where students from different group 4 subjects work together on a scientific or technological topic, allowing for concepts and perceptions from across the disciplines to be shared in order to create and understand connections between different scientific disciplines and their impact on other areas of knowledge.
The project allows students to appreciate the environmental, social and ethical implications of science and technology. It may also allow them to understand the limitations of scientific study, for example, the shortage of appropriate data and/or the lack of resources. The emphasis is on interdisciplinary cooperation and the processes involved in scientific investigation, rather than the products of such investigation.
This year’s theme is ‘Energy’ and topics being presented by the Class of 2019 include the making of biomass, energy use at Wells, and kinetic tiles that generate renewable energy.
We look forward to welcoming guests from our school community and sharing our knowledge and research with you all!
