Class of 2024 Commencement Ceremony

On Friday, May 31, 2024, Wells International School graduated its 15th senior class, ready for the transition into the next chapter of their young lives. This year’s commencement ceremony was an extra special occasion, as it also marked the 25th anniversary of our school.

As per tradition, the class completed their final march around the school in unison with Sir Edward Elgar’s ‘Pomp and Circumstance’ No. 1.

After a welcome address from Chairman Dr. Chang Yao-Lang and a heartfelt message from Head of School, Dr. Ray de la Peña, the High School Principal, Mr. William Jones, also shared some important life lessons and gratitude for those who have contributed to the success of this class.

This year, we had a special keynote speaker, Ms. Prima Pupornchai, a Wells alumni from the Class of 2015. She gave some wise advice to the class based on what she has learned from her experience at Wells and beyond. Following this speech, the Class Valedictorian, Rachel Bobin Kim, delivered a unique and inspiring message to her classmates.

The audience also watched several special videos with congratulatory messages to the graduands from parents, teachers, peers and younger students.

Senior awards were also presented to some of the top graduates:

Chairwoman’s Award for the Top Female Graduate(s):

Li Han Sun, Rachel Bobin Kim & Sana Shibuichi

Head of School’s Award for the Top Male Graduate:

Natkirakorn (Nate) Boonchaipanichwatana

Chairman’s Seahawk Spirit Award

Kittipoom (Japan)

The High School Choir, including some of the Senior members, gave a beautiful performance of ‘It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye’.

The celebration ended with the conferring of thirty-nine diplomas and traditional mortar toss signifying the end of their most memorable years at the school. They now join our growing community of Wells alumni ready to make a positive impact in the world around them.

On behalf of the entire Wells International School community,
Congratulations to the Graduated Class of 2024!
We wish you the best in all of your future endeavors!
And remember… Once a Seahawk, always a Seahawk!
