Grade 2A students were introduced to a new theme on the Solar System. We have been focusing on facts about the moon and the moon in motion. Students participated in a light experiment to explore the phases of the moon wherein the lamp represents the Sun, the white foam represents the Moon and the student is the Earth. As the moon orbits around the Earth, its shape gradually changes depending on the reflection of the sun. We saw different phases forming such as the new moon, crescent moon, gibbous moon, and full moon. The students were really excited during our experiment and thoroughly enjoyed the activity!
