Essential Agreement
In a PYP school, every class, every team, even the whole school has an essential agreement which sets the tone for collaboration and teamwork. How else would we know what the shared expectations and codes of behavior are? At Wells International School Bang Na, we brought the students together from grade 1-5 and reviewed our school wide rules. In mixed aged groups, the students decided if they agreed with our rules and guiding principles and added to the list. After that, the grade 5 students looked for similar ideas and created an overarching essential agreement for our whole school. The essential agreement is: 1. Be safe. 2. Be a good example or role model. 3. Be respectful, open minded, and polite. 4. We are responsible for our school. The fifth graders made posters to hang around our school and share with other grade levels.
