Senior Kundis “Arm” Setthapongkul scores 10 in boys’ first victory
On Nut – Fortunes turned Tuesday afternoon as the Senior Boys picked up their first win in TISAC basketball this season, beating visiting St. Andrews International School 26-18. However, the Senior Girls, accustomed to winning, picked up their first loss of the season, dropping their contest 23-12, also against St. Andrews.
In the boys game, a stingy defense limited the visitors to just two points in the first quarter, while the quick hands and unselfish passing of point guard Thanapon “Boss” Phuripichet helped build the Seahawk lead to 16-11 at the half. With more of the same in the second half, Wells was able to build a comfortable lead by the final quarter, despite the loss of their team captain to foul trouble.
Aside from Arm’s 10 points and Boss’ 5 points, power forward Saran Singsacha contributed 8 points, while senior Dongha Shin and freshman Kao “Jim” Chin put in two points and one point, respectively.
